Max Butterbrodt focuses his practice on real estate, business, and litigation matters. He represents individuals and businesses in a variety of real estate matters, including purchase and sale transactions, easements and access rights, title issues, landlord-tenant matters, contract disputes, and other issues involving the ownership, use, and transfer of real property.
Max also assists clients with general business and commercial matters and brings experience handling contested real property, creditor law, and contract matters. His background in both transactional and litigation work allows him to help clients identify potential issues before disputes arise and, when disputes do occur, evaluate practical options for resolving them efficiently.
Max strives to provide clear, practical advice and to keep clients informed throughout the legal process. He approaches each matter with an emphasis on understanding the client’s objectives, identifying the available options, and developing a practical path forward.
Max is admitted to practice in Washington and Massachusetts. He earned his Juris Doctor from Suffolk University Law School and his B.A. in Political Science and American History from Emmanuel College. Before joining Reed Longyear, Max practiced in commercial real estate, creditor law, and civil litigation.
Originally from Massachusetts, Max now lives in Seattle and enjoys having traded East Coast winters for the mountains, lakes, and trails of the Pacific Northwest. He was drawn to Reed Longyear by the firm’s deep experience in real estate and business law and its practical, client-focused approach to legal work. Outside the office, Max enjoys hiking, cooking, basketball, exploring Washington, and spending time with family and friends.
