Attorney Michael Longyear will co-chair the Washington State Bar Association’s 19th Annual Elder Law Fall Conference on September 16th. The focus for the seminar will be “Advising Clients on Retirement and Long-Term Care Planning“. Another Reed Longyear Attorney, Carla Calogero, is currently the Chair of the Elder Law Section for the State Bar Association.
This month we celebrate two firm anniversaries in our family law department. Erin Blower has worked with Reed Longyear as an associate attorney since 2013, and paralegal Shirlee Murphy has now been with the firm for 10 years. This month we celebrate firm anniversaries for three attorneys in the office. Julie Sommer has now been with Reed Longyear for 8 years. Attorney Sommer practices in the areas of social security and guardianship. Personal injury attorney John Vaughey celebrates 10 years with the firm. Lastly, attorney Shane Yelish, who works in real estate and small business, has now been with us for 6 years. As always, we’re happy to recognize our devoted team!
Attorney Michael Longyear will be co-chairing and Attorney Jason Burnett will be speaking at a King County Bar Association program this Friday, May 13th. The Continuing Legal Education Program is titled “Probate Litigation: Non-TEDRA Causes of Actions and Alternatives”, and Attorney Burnett will be speaking on Quiet Title Actions and Ejectments.
This morning, Reed Longyear attorneys and staff attended the 2016 Family Law CASA Annual Breakfast to benefit at-risk children in the greater King County area. We would especially like to congratulate RADM Herb Bridge and Edie Hilliard as recipients of the 2016 Mabry De Buys Memorial Award!
Family Law CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) works to ensure advocacy and a safe environment for children when their parents are involved in tough custody cases. The organization serves low-to-moderate income homes on contested paternity, divorce and third-party custody cases.
