Meng Yu Che entered the legal profession after 20+ years in the IT industry to serve and advocate for Washington’s elderly population. Meng’s practice focuses on representing and assisting clients in estate planning, probate administration, and elder law. While attending Seattle University School of Law, Meng volunteered multiple times in the Moderate Means Program, connecting individuals with constrained resources with volunteer attorneys for pro bono or low bono (reduced fee) engagements. This positive experience led Meng to become especially passionate about how technology can facilitate increased access to legal services that may be traditionally unavailable to the elderly and other marginalized communities.

As a committed lifelong learner, Meng Yu Che furthered his legal education and graduated in June 2022 from the University of Washington School of Law with a Master of Laws in Taxation. Meng advises clients on the taxation aspects related to gift and estate planning.

When Meng Yu Che is not working, he can be found participating in local running groups and events, cooking new recipes, mentoring new attorneys, volunteering with the Washington Dementia Legal Planning Program, serving on the Board of the Washington First Responder Will Clinic, and experiencing local Washington communities off the beaten path.

Attorney Meng Yu Che presented at Reed Longyear’s February 2023 informational webinar on the topic of Thinking Twice About Probate Assets – why certain probate assets require more planning than others. See Meng’s presentation below or watch the full February 2023 webinar.
