Kristin Kelly is an Associate Attorney with Reed Longyear. Her practice focuses primarily on family law matters and civil litigation, including contract and beverage law disputes. She manages each of her cases with diligence and professionalism. She approaches each client with kindness and compassion, understanding they are trusting her with their unique life experiences often during a very traumatic time. She begins each matter with the intention of obtaining an amicable and swift resolution for her clients. However, she is an experienced litigator and prepared to advocate for her clients in court. She has managed numerous complex litigation cases in both family and contract law and has established a beverage law practice, assisting local distributors and suppliers with various issues, from defending statutory protections to negotiating contracts.

Kristin Kelly obtained her Juris Doctor from Seattle University School of Law and was admitted to the Washington State Bar in 2015. During law school, Kristin interned for the Racial Disparity Project in Seattle and the ACLU of Washington, where she assisted in defending civil rights through criminal law, proposed positions on, and changes to Washington legislation and researched challenges posed by the collective bargaining in public interest labor law when proposing constitutional police reform. She was awarded a grant from the Public Interest Law Foundation in 2012 and was invited to spend her last year of law school at Berkeley Law as a visiting student.

Prior to attending Seattle University School of Law, Kristin worked for 12 years as a legal professional in an array of practice areas, including personal injury, criminal defense, and construction contracts & lien law. Her prior work history provided her with a foundation in client relationships, professionalism, and civil procedures, which make her a skilled attorney.

Kristin Kelly enjoys hiking, camping, longboarding or gardening when the weather permits. During the colder months she enjoys cozy days at home with her family, preferably by a warm fire with a great cup of coffee.

Attorney Kristin Kelly presented at Reed Longyear's February 2023 informational webinar on the topic of Community Property - creating communiaty property and exceptions to the presumption. See Kristin's presentation below or watch the full February 2023 webinar.
